Here's a GOOD NEWS story about loggerhead turtles who are doing really well right now along the Southeastern coast. We thought you'd enjoy the feel good story of the summer!

The article lists a lot of conservations efforts that have helped loggerheads recover, and towards the end you'll note that  they mention shrimping regulations; "Experts also cite turtle excluder devices, which allow loggerheads to escape fishing nets and became federally mandated for all commercial shrimp boats in 1987."

We appreciate our regional shrimpers in the Atlantic, the Gulf of Mexico, and around the country who have not only supported the use of TED's, but in many cases helped innovate, develop, and promote their use.
