Fresh Alaska Cod is our sustainability superstar of the week! Delicious, approachable, and versatile, this mild whitefish elevates any easy meal – fish and chips, tacos, world’s best fish chowder. Alaska Cod can also dress up and go to a black-tie affair, here’s some inspiration from past events at the James Beard House:

Alaskan’s Top Chef Laura Cole featured a “Crispy Skin Alaska Cod with Morel Mushroom Tea, Tangerine–Semolina Noodles, Spring Peas, and Amaranth” (paired with a Charles Smith Wines K Vintners Viognier 2014).

And Chef Michael Dolan of San Francisco’s Twenty-Five Lusk offered a “skillet-roasted True Cod from Alaska with saffron mussel sauce, escarole, and shishito peppers”.

Ranked Green (Best Choice!) by Seafood Watch, Alaska cod is a great addition to any menu.
